4 Main Types of Detectable Warning Tile
If you’re interested in installing a detectable warning system at your business, then you should know which products are available. These are the four main types of detectable warning tile:
Replaceable Wet-Set: The strength of this particular type of tile is that it can be inserted as a building is being constructed and is also easily replaced. Workers place the tile within the concrete itself. Later, if it wears out, they can simply unbolt the tile and replace it with a new one. The new tile will fit perfectly within the recess created by the previous tile.
Surface Mount: Surface mount tiles are, as the name implies, affixed to the surface of a construction project instead of being inserted into the concrete. These tiles are ideal for retrofitting projects during which the contractor wants to build upon what is already there, instead of completely demolishing existing structures.
Cast in Place: Tiles that are cast in place are extremely strong; what they lack in versatility, they make up for in durability. These tiles can either be made as part of a pre-fabricated slab of concrete or inserted into wet concrete at the building site.
Radius System: The Radius System is an exciting new product which allows unparalleled versatility in tile placement. Radius System tiles can be either surface mounted or replaceable wet-set. The gradually curved tiles will allow you to place detectable warning tiles even in circular positions.
Whether you’ve undertaken a new construction project or you’re interested in refitting an older building to bring it in line with the Americans with Disabilities Act or, you’ll need at least some of the tiles we’ve mentioned. Fortunately, ADA Solutions, Inc. supplies them all. ADA Solutions also provides ADA warning strips, tactile warning systems, truncated domes, and other detectable warning systems.
